Moomoo (Korean: 무무), commonly stylized as MOOMOO or MooMoo, is the official name of MAMAMOO's fandom.
Name[]
The name "MOOMOO" is taken from the last part of MAMAMOO's group name, MAMAMOO (마마무), and then repeated twice.[1][2] Moo (Korean: 무) is a word meaning "radish", so MOOMOOs are sometimes literally called "Radishes".
The fandom's name is also tied to the appearance of their lightstick, the Moobong, which resembles a radish. Before the lightstick was announced, people would bring actual radishes as their cheering lightsticks.[3][4] Fans would also wear radish masks that resemble the one that Michael Myers wears.
Additionally, the fandom also has another nickname, which is "Cows". This name originated from the onomatopoeia of the sound that cows make (moo).
Moobong[]
The Moobong (Korean: 무무봉) is the official lightstick for MOOMOOs. It was first announced on October 27, 2015[5] and later released on January 12, 2016.[6] The Moobong's latest version is 2.5.
Its design was made by fans.[5] The vibrating feature for the lightstick is to signal fans with eyesight or hearing impairments when to cheer for MAMAMOO.[7]
